Social Optics Advances to Semi-Finals of VITAL Prize Challenge for K-12 Learning Innovations
Social Optics, an innovative EdTech company equipping teens with a communication toolkit for social-emotional well-being, is proud to announce its selection as one of the 54 semi-finalists for the prestigious Visionary Interdisciplinary Teams Advancing Learning (VITAL) Prize Challenge. Supported by the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Schmidt Futures, and the Walton Family Foundation, this $6 million challenge aims to foster novel learning technologies for nationwide adoption in K-12 education.
The VITAL Prize Challenge received over 300 submissions across three technology tracks. By prioritizing data accessibility and usability, Social Optics is committed to empowering educators with valuable insights to optimize student outcomes and promote equitable education.
During the Semi-Final Round, Social Optics and its educator partners will have approximately three months to make significant progress in product design. This phase provides an opportunity to showcase the potential impact of their product in the K-12 education landscape. A judging panel of experts across educational research, practice, and technology will review and select finalists to advance to the next round.
"We are honored to be chosen as a semi-finalist for the VITAL Prize Challenge," said Lisa Litherland, CEO at Social Optics. "This recognition reflects our dedication to transforming education through innovative learning technologies. We are excited to collaborate with educators and students to refine our product and positively impact social-emotional well-being in K-12 education."
Social Optics is committed to leveraging the VITAL Prize Challenge to further develop and refine their communication toolkit, working towards their mission of equipping teens with the necessary skills for social-emotional well-being. As they progress through the competition, Social Optics remains steadfast in their pursuit of revolutionizing K-12 learning and ensuring that every student receives the support they need for personal growth.
